NAVIGATING UNCERTAINTY AND FINDING PEACE

اللَّهُ وَلِيُّ الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا يُخْرِجُهُمْ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ

God is the protector of those who have attained to faith, He takes them out of the darknesses and into the light. (Quran 2:257)

Quarantine, calamities, and constant anxiety. These are just some of the ways to describe how the past year has felt. With so much uncertainty, hardship, and trial all around us; we look to Islam and search for light in all we go through because we know Allah SWT does not put a believer through more than what they can bare. We trust his divine plan and try to stay steadfast but being human – our faith has peaks and valleys.

This year’s theme, Searching for Light: Navigating Uncertainty and Finding Peace, will focus on finding the spark that may have dwindled within us to seek Allah SWT’s guidance, process the tests we are enduring, and find peace and contentment within our hearts.

901 Ummah's yearly retreat is focused on reconnecting with deen and realigning ourselves during a three-day weekend filled with Islamic discussion and fun outdoor activities for youth and young professionals. Throughtout the weekend, individuals will have group halaqah's, seperate group circles, one-on-one mentoring time, team bonding activities, opportunities to meet Muslim youth from across Tennessee, and more. 

The retreat ticket is priced at $110 per person and includes a two-night and three-day stay at YMCS Camp Ocoee. Daily halal meals will be provided by the camp, as well as various activities including hiking, canoeing, kayaking, archery, a high ropes course, and other outdoor sports.

Permission Letter and Liability Release Form

The participant named has my (our) permission to attend the 901 Ummah retreat.

We (I), being 21 years of age or older, do for ourselves (and for and on behalf of my child/participant if said child is not 21 years of age or older) do hereby release, forever discharge and agree to hold harmless 901 Ummah and the directors thereof from any and all liability, claims or demands for personal injury, sickness or death, as well as property damage and expenses, of any nature whatsoever which may be incurred by the undersigned and the child-participant that occur while said child is participating in the above described event, trip or activity.

Furthermore, we (I) (and on behalf of our (my) child-participant if under the age of 21 years) hereby assume all risk of personal injury, sickness, death, damage, and expense as a result of participation in recreation and work activities involved therein.

Further, authorization and permission is hereby given to said organization to furnish any necessary transportation, food and lodging for this participant.

Further, should it be necessary for the participant to return home due to medical reasons, disciplinary action or otherwise, we (I) hereby assume all transportation costs.

The undersigned further hereby agree to hold harmless and indemnify said organization (901 Ummah), its directors, employees, and agents, for any liability sustained by said organization as the result of negligent, willful, or intentional acts of said participant, including expenses incurred attendant thereto.
