'Eid Classic' tournament at Pleasant View School

901 Ummah and Muslim Basketball League hosted the second annual "Eid Classic" basketball tournament at PVS on August 5 with this year's format of a series of 3 on 3 games rather than the usual 5 on 5.

Four teams competed against over the course of the day in a number of preliminary games before advancing to a single elimination bracket to determine the champion.

The championship pitted "Team Walid" featuring Walid, Sammy Ibrahim and Jordan Johnson against the "Wildcats" with Ali Mohammed, Hamdi Osman and Mohammed Yusuf.

"Team Walid" came out with a hard fought 25-24 victory in the final seconds to claim the championship.

With 14 points, 3 assists, and 7 rebounds, Jordan Johnson won the Finals MVP trophy. The event was a success and the participants enjoyed their experience.

"I had fun and can't wait for next year's tournament," said Sammy Ibrahim.
